Organic cloth diapers are an excellent way to help the environment, while keeping your child comfortable. Some people believe that all cloth diapers are made of completely organic materials. This is far from true. More than a few of these diapers, are in fact, a combination of polyester and cotton.

Many people use disposable diapers, because they believe they are easier, and that cloth diapers take up too much time. Although it may be easier to simply remove a disposable diaper, and place it in the trash, it is not good for the planet. People who use organic cloth diapers, will automatically dispose of the contents of these diapers, in an appropriate manner. Because these diapers will be reused, this issue has been removed. If parents who are currently using disposable diapers realized this, they would likely quickly change to organic cloth diapers.

You may ask, “what about the smell”? As apposed to disposable diapers? Well, you can be sure that it is definitely not worse, and probably not as bad. There are ways of combating this odor, which are safe, and do not cause harm. You can purchase a sealing hamper or diaper pail. Or, if you have a laundry room that small children will not be exposed to (to avoid drowning), you may add water and lemon juice to a diaper pail, or add water and an environmentally safe disinfecting solution, and allow the diapers to soak until you are ready to wash them.

Statistics have proven that babies who are diapered in cloth do not suffer with more diaper rash than those using disposable diapers. In fact, many people swear by cloth, and claim to have much more comfortable babies.
