Dating Myths Revealed

Dating nowadays can be fun, but equally complicated. With the rules constantly changing it is hard to keep up on what we should and should do. Perhaps you have experienced this. You thought it was a great date, and then it turns out that the date did not go right at all. Are you stuck in some pre-existing dating myths? Let us compare the untrue to reality:

Myth: Talking about yourself is always taken as narcissistic.

Reality: While you do not want to go on and on about yourself, there is nothing wrong with talking about yourself a little bit.

It is all about balancing the conversation. Ask questions about them, so they can see your interest as well as explain about yourself as well. Sharing shows that you are an open person who is looking for intimacy, while asking about them shows you are genuinely interested. As long as you maintain a balance between talking about you and the other person, the date should go smoothly.

Myth: Being friends’ first makes a relationship easier.

Reality: this isn’t always true. Sometimes being friends first created a casual atmosphere that makes it harder to transfer the relationship over to more than friends. The sparks, and budding romance sometimes are lost when someone has been a friend with them for a while.

Myth: Ordering a salad shows the other person that you are health and weight conscious.

Reality: If you actually feel like eating a salad, then go for it! Otherwise order what you feel like eating.

Stay confident in who you are, even when you order your food. Otherwise you may come across as fussy and hard to please, and nobody likes that when trying to have a good date.
