Exceptional Infant Nursery Bedding Sets Don’t Come With Pillows

New parents experience a lot of anxiety and have tons of choices to make, when they set out to decorate their new baby’s nursery. There are so many things that must be discussed and decided regarding the care of the new baby. Parents must consider whether to use cloth or disposable diapers, if a day care facility or a parent at home caring for the child will fit it best for their lifestyle, and how much their lives will be changed by taking care of the new little addition to the family. One thing many parents don’t think about is the theme for their baby’s crib set.

Having a new baby will mean that there will be a flood of new presents from your friends and family. Fortunate expectant parents usually receive a happy assortment of gifts for their baby, many of which can actually prove to be unnecessary or even dangerous if used when baby is sleeping. Pillows and stuffed animals should never be in the same crib with a slumbering baby, and overly fluffy blankets can also prove to be very hazardous to any infant. When decorating a nursery, safety becomes a key concern because some items may seem safe, but are a potential danger to the child.

Of the types of nursery decor items, which are safe for the baby? Bedding for babies that is overly stuffed can get in the way of a baby as they don’t yet have the ability to move it. If the baby is sleeping, and moves his head into a very fluffy blanket, he can suffocate on the fluffy object.

It doesn’t mean that you can’t use that fluffy blanket you received as a gift from your mother-in-law, but it means that you should only use it when you are present and in control of whether or not your baby is putting it in his mouth. For the most part, baby bedding should be as flat as the average sheet. Bedding for a baby which if fluffier than your average sheet or receiving blanket should NOT be used in the crib. Remember; soft, NOT fluffy.

New born children have no need for a pillow, and there is no need to place one with your child. You’ll find babies lying with their heads to the side, on their back or on their bellies after they can roll over on their own. Danger: Adding a pillow to an infant’s sleeping area does not create comfort. There is a risk of airway obstruction because most babies don’t always have the motor skills required to move something out of their way. This is why pillows do not come with crib sets, even Trend Lab Max.

Stuffed animals pose an even greater danger of suffocation to a baby if they are left in a crib or bed. Stuffed animals are dangerously attractive to young children, who love to hug the precious toys, but may be too tiny and weak to push their “little friends” away when they obstruct their breathing or movement.
