If you happen to be one of those teens without a car or license and you want to make cash, how about starting with the neighborhood kids? Unless you’re a “military brat” used to moving around, you grew up with them. You can trust them and they can trust you. After all, if you scam them or do not do a good job, they know your parents and they know where you live! Mowing lawns, raking leaves and walking the dog has always been a good way for teens to make cash, especially when dealing with retired or elderly neighbors. Aside from gardening and dog walking, your teen could also make cash through washing cars, washing windows or doing house cleaning chores. If there are a lot of families in the neighborhood, you can even try posting flyers offering cheap after school and weekend babysitting.

Another way that teens can make cash is through a paper route. Many large newspapers now require carriers to be eighteen or older. But if you live in a smaller town, community papers will normally allow teens below eighteen to go on their paper routes. This can be done easily on a bicycle, motor bike, skateboard, or on foot. Additionally, you can encourage your teens to go into flyer distribution, which is another good way they can make cash for themselves.

If all else fails, teens can go around to local businesses within walking distance. Most of the time, convenience stores would require that workers be no younger than eighteen or twenty one years of age. But you may also find employment as a grocery store stocker or work as a short-order cook in a fast food restaurant. Additionally, your teens can also find work in movie theaters as ushers. If you play your cards right, these jobs can be comparatively lucrative. However, in some areas these types of jobs are few and far between.
