Let me tell you that in kids soccer drills, there are certain blunders that coaches make which reduce their teams to rubble and bring it down. Yes, that’s correct. Lot of people must be busy finding out the big reason responsible for a team’s such great downfall. Well then, the bad news is that they are many.

You will have to work very watchfully and advantageously in designing soccer drills for kids. It’s very important for you know the kid’s psychology. Communicate with them in a way that suits their age level. But unfortunately, many coaches are unprepared to adjust to it. They fail to realize that there is a distinction in coaching kids and coaching grown-up players.

Here you go; main errors that coaches make that result in a team’s downfall.

1. A lot of them consider their jobs as casual work. They don’t consider in necessary to be prompt in reaching the ground, set up the drills, or systematize practice sessions. Activities like these not merely put off the kids but are also terrible. Kids take soccer very seriously and so should you. Make arrangements for youth soccer drills beforehand. Arrange for various equipments needed to perform the drills before-hand.

Be on time. Don’t be the one to reach the field later than the kids. In fact, you should be on the track before the kids arrive. It provides you some spare time to review the drills and organize things better.

2. When the coaches are instructing before the kids soccer drills, it is normal for them to take a long time. Have you ever imagined how torturous that can be! You must appreciate that kids are more eager to play than hearing long speeches. Keep your words of wisdom brief and straight forward. Use this talk to motivate the kids and increase their confidence.

It is extremely vital that the kids are not interrupted while playing. If you have noted anything wrong, share it after the drill has ended. And stand outside the field when the kids are playing.

3. Some coaches get ruthless and unkind while dealing with the kids. In soccer drills for youth, both the traits are self-destructive. It may spell disaster for you if you get carried away by emotions on the field. It is Ok if kids make mistakes. Always remember that they are young. You do not need to take this to heart and get harsh with the players.

In such a situation, you disengage the kids from the game and also create problems for yourself. Soccer is about mind games. When you help the kids know the meaning of it, they will love the game.
