Numerous Themes For The Nursery Can Easily Be Found

Not so long ago, bedding for the nursery was limited to basic solid hues. There was white, and then pastel pink, blue, green, and yellow were added, but it was still rather boring and dull. Cotton was the only fabric offered. Next, a few prints were produced, featuring playful lambs or teddy bears. Still later, quilts began to sport cotton appliques, frequently of a fuzzy lamb. Truly interesting nursery bedding, however, remained elusive.

Finally, though, manufacturers started to realize that parents wanted more. New designs were created, and new fabrics were brought into the process. Crib bedding became more versatile, and major designers began creating sheets and blankets for their smallest clients. The nursery could now be properly decorated for the latest arrival in the family.

Individual pieces can be purchased, but many retailers are now offering everything for the crib in one complete bedding collection set. The set contains items that have the same theme. The exact elements vary, but the standard set will usually feature a crib sheet, a blanket or quilt, a bumper pad, and a dust ruffle. The set is usually more economical than buying each item separately.

Designer baby bedding from famous designers is available from numerous retailers. Some of the names, such as Eddie Bauer or Laura Ashley, are quite recognizable to most people. Designers feature a huge variety of themes, from geometrical designs to animal motifs. Exciting fabrics, appliques, and embroidery may also be included.

Some themes are considered traditionally gender specific, but many are not. For boys, there are sports motifs, pirates, fish, cowboys, jungle themes, and animals, both wild and domestic. For girls, there are butterflies, ballerinas, angels, and flowers. The sky, ocean, alphabet, and numerals are also popular, and there are also quilt patterns for those who prefer nostalgia and abstract designs for those who favor modern art. Dragonfly and ladybug baby bedding is a popular choice for those who like their insects cute.

Some bedding sets feature coverlets that combine a number of different textures, such as corduroy, felt, and satin to make them more interesting to baby’s touch. Organic fabrics and those made from recycled materials are also available.

There are also accessories available to co-ordinate with the crib sets. Lamps, mobiles, rugs, diaper holders, and toy bags are just a few of the extra items to be found. Some sets also have window curtains and wall hangings that match. With so many styles of crib sets available, the only problem lies in deciding on which of the adorable themes to choose.
