Priming Your Nursery for Your New Little Doll – Critical Directions
How lucky you are to expect the arrival of a baby soon! You’re ready to welcome your new baby home, but there are many things you need to do to get ready for its arrival. You have plenty of time to prepare the nursery before your baby is born. A bed is at the top of the list as far as important things for a new baby are concerned.
Although a crib or bassinet is one of the fundamental baby item, don’t ignore the crib bedding. I would not recommend placing your baby on a cold plastic mattress. Your baby is not likely to enjoy it, and neither would you. Start off being prepared by having at least two sets of nice bedding, one to put on baby crib while the other is in the wash, before baby comes home. A good way to help your baby sleep better and be happier is to use bedding that is made out of cotton and is also bright colored.
Now you want to change your baby’s bed from a boring crib with a bland mattress and wooden slats into a nice, comfortable bed, but what do you need to do it? At least you would need cotton crib sheets for that plastic mattress. Baby bedding crib sets are most durable when made from 100% cotton, which is also known to be gentle on baby’s skin. To ensure that the bedding doesn’t cause a rash, use a mild or baby detergent, and wash it before using it.
Bumper pads can be placed around the edges of the crib to keep your baby from bruising himself or herself when he or she is able to move and roll around. If you tend to keep your home on the cool side it’s a good idea to include a cozy blanket as part of the baby bedding. If you think the crib still looks too plain, consider attaching a crib skirt. Crib skirts are included with most sets of baby bedding; they’re not really needed, but they can improve the decor of your baby’s nursery.
Having your house prepared ahead of time will make the transition smoother when you finally bring your baby home for the very first time.
