The Best Shaman Leveling Guide
The Shaman is one of the most important members of any group and a shaman leveling guide can provide some of the best tips and hints for the fledging player. Capable of fully flushing out the group it is the Shaman that can both fight and heal; an important role no matter the foe.
Alliance members are just recently able to access the class of Shaman. In exchange, Horde members can play blood elf Paladin; a fair trade many believe. Leveling your Shaman can be easy given the right equipment and guide. Just make sure to pay proper attention to this classes other potentials and skills.
While not primarily casters, Shamans will find that weapon choice is pretty important. Capable of wielding one handed and two handed weapons such as axes and maces, the Shaman can even duel wield making shield use possible. Those loyal to swords will be disappointed that Shaman can not use them but it is really a small price to pay in exchange for the buffs to make heavy weapon wielding easy. Pay close attention to the stats, if any, on each weapon. Grinding at low levels is best with a heavy focus on meleeing so stats to help improve dexterity and even armor will be used.
Shamans main spells of choice are usually restoration spells since they do serve as back up healers in groups. Group fighting is a great way of leveling so spells used for pulling aggro should be learned and strengthened. If solo fighting, buffs for weapons, self healing, and skills should be hot keyed.
Clothes make the man, or in this case the Shaman. Leather is the starting armor though Shamans can wear mail armor at later levels. For those that truly want to unlock the Shamans full potential, leather working is possible and can prove to be a great way to make money. Since Shamans are not usually used as tanks, or the one to take the blunt of the damage in fighting, they have no need for the higher end defensive armor like plate.
Focusing on Restoration, Enhancement, and Elemental and finding the right balance between the three is rather crucial to a great Shaman. Each of these talents have their own individual benefits. Restoration reduces casting time and Enhancement increases melee damage done.
Then it comes to fighting and the actual leveling. Grinding is what seasoned players call the act of gaining experience for long periods of time. At lower levels grinding is fairly simple without useful armor or weapons. Group fighting at these levels can be extremely useful but solo play is possible with the right focus on skill set.
Slaying enemies is all well and good but doing it in an efficient manner is important. Group fighting is one of the best ways but having a Shaman leveling guide can enhance this by ten fold.
