The First Year Of A Baby’s Life

When looking into the world of a baby this is quite a significant place to observe. There are many things which make up this place and they can be endless. A baby is an extraordinary little thing just with the rate of its growth and learning in such a short time. From the time shortly after it is born it knows to look for its first food. When hungry or uncomfortable it knows to cry and this will surely get someones attention. After a very short time it will know its mother and then its father.

All of a sudden there will be a beautiful smile when it looks up one day, and this might happen after about six weeks and its parents will know absolute delight. It will try and try to roll over and when it does this, it will then try and try to sit up. It is now making funny little noises and is trying its best to crawl.

Well it is crawling and it is going to try and get under the chairs and table, now it has bumped its little head and this will not be the only time. Mum or dad comes to the rescue and baby is crying, but a rub on the head will sooth its bump. The little leg muscles it has needs to be strengthened before it can stand properly so it finds anything it can to help pull itself up.

With its leg muscles pretty strong now it is taking its first steps, and there go the parents again they are absolutely delighted. Look its just taken its first step and they will marvel as to how fast their little one has grown. The little one is doing more than taking steps now it is almost running.

When the little one decides to say its first coherent word like mum, mum or dad, dad or bub, this will be another time its parents will be ecstatic and will say did you hear that. Very shortly after this baby will be starting to talk, it will be a little hard to understand but mum and dad will know what was said. It will also be trying to feed itself by now and sometimes the food does not quite end up where it was supposed to go.

The little one is now showing lots of smiles and lots of giggles and laughter but also some tears. There are tears of tiredness, tears of hunger and tears when something hurts. The little one now shows it has a temper, sometimes said to be throwing a paddy, and all because it is not allowed to have what it wants.

It is now up to the stage of learning what has been decided it can have and what has been decided it cannot, as well as what has been decided it can get away with and what it cannot. The little one is now being very constructive and puts objects into a box then takes them out again, and then thinks sitting in the box is much better. Bath time can be just so much fun with all the pretty colours floating around and there are boats as well.

Now it is time for learning at playgroup and sharing with other little ones. Pre school has arrived and so has the first painting for the fridge which is proudly displayed stuck on with fridge magnets. Your little baby is now growing up, where has time gone, he or she is off to school. Yes they are quite amazing and in those years that seem so short, they have learned so much.
