Trampoline Helps Save Lives
Recently there were two teenagers who escaped a burning house by jumping on to a trampoline from their window. In Northumberland Street in Higher Broughton a fire broke out on a property at around 3.43am in the morning. The teenagers who jumped out of the window were on third floor of the building. They were awaken by the smoke which entered their property.
At these moments you automatically start to panic but the girls were guided by their neighbours to jump on the trampoline which was located in the back garden. Both of the girls jumped one after another and suffered no major injuries. Thought they were still taken to the hospital to do the normal checks. They did suffer some minor injuries to their back, neck and foot but the ambulance spokesman said that none of these injuries were life threatening.
Fire service spokesman has urged people not to take these sorts of evasive action as this might cause some serious life threatening injuries. Though in that situation would you care about saving yourself from fire or care about twisting your leg or arm after jumping off from the window. This time the girls took the right decision as we can see both of them are fine.
To be fair the fire service spokesman also said that only take this approach if it’s the last resource you have left and also throw mattresses to break their fall if they can. This will make sure you have a light fall and also minimise injuries. Nowadays a lot of property have trampoline at their back yard 8ft trampolines to 12ft trampolines, I am not saying we should all do the same what the girls did though. From this incident it does tell us that trampolines can come in very handy, that’s all I am saying.
