Upgrading Your Toddlers Room
You know your child is growing up when he starts complaining about his room’s wallpaper and decor. Transforming the nursery into a room where a growing boy or girl will feel welcome is a great project for you. Before your child reaches middle school, you should have a solid plan for renovating the nursery. Keep reading…
This project is not necessarily expensive. For a more frugal option, decide which furniture you can build yourself and which ones to buy. Roll up your sleeves, buy some furniture kits from the shop, and bring out your tools for some DIY fun. You can do this over the weekend.
Choose space saving furniture and appliances to allow your child to add some more stuff when he reaches high school. He will need space for his toy collection, and more space to entertain his friends.
Loft Beds
A loft bed is an elevated sleeping area with enough space underneath to accommodate a study table or a row of cabinets. Get a loft bed kit and start planning where you will position the bed inside the room. You may have to assemble the pieces of the loft bed inside the room if you’re using a kit.
Folding Table and Chairs
Friends will be very important for growing kids. That’s why you need to make sure that your son’s room is a place where he can socialize. Foldable chairs are great to have around, and tables are always useful if you’re serving lemonade inside the room. Nowadays, kids hang in other kids’ rooms if they want to watch television, play games on the console or create projects for the school. Foldable chairs allow kids to sit on the floor if they want to.
Computer Table and Study Table
Your child’s room must have to types of desks, one for studying, and another for the computer. Some kids prefer working on homework with mom on the dining table, while others prefer to do it alone inside their room. Because of this, a separate table for homeworks is recommended.
Ventilation Using Ceiling Fans
Thin-blade ceiling fans are recommended for better ventilation. Save the large, ornate types for the living room. Quiet fans that do the job without disturbing the inhabitant of the room are ideal.
Give your child the freedom to express himself by letting him choose some decorative items for his walls. Let him mount posters of his favorite artists or cartoon characters.
