Your Toddler Will Be So Proud Of His Wooden Potty Chair

Once again wooden potty chairs are here. They were relegated to the heaps of old-fashioned furniture of the fifties and replaced with a myriad plastic potties. Potties with steps to the toilet, portable potties, potties that looked like urinals, potties with or without lids, you name it. They served their purpose and are still doing so. But now we are trying to stop the continual flow of plastic to the garbage tips of our towns and centers and in doing so, have welcomed back the humble wooden potty chair. But is it still so humble? Not one bit!

Woodworkers everywhere are adding potty chairs to their list of newly handcrafted items. It can be argued that many of the styles really pander to the whims of adults flights of fancy (especially the ones with magazine racks and toilet roll dispensers) but then again, every child needs to learn somehow that toilet paper is used for wiping purposes and not for spending their time on the potty chair ripping the loo roll into tiny bits and pieces for mother to pick up. The chairs are appealing and the magazine rack can be used instead for toys or washable books, more suitable for little fingers and toilet rolls removed until they know better.

There are so many different kinds of wooden training chairs available on the market today that any parent will find it almost impossible to make a choice and will in all likelihood want to choose more than one. One each to keep at each set of grandparents homes and one to fit the decor of their toddlers nursery theme, for home. Lets take a few of them:

Handmade chairs for potty-training come with an assortment of handles, making it easy for a busy mum to grasp a heart-shaped handle for example in one hand while holding baby number two on her hip. The chairs are very pretty and there is a wide choice of themes comprising bunny-rabbits, mice, flowers, fairies, cars, in fact anything that you can think of can either be purchased directly or be customized to suit your taste. Most act as rockers as well, incidentally. Many a busy mum may find some time to have a cup of tea while her toddler comes to grips with his or her potty training rocking away to some nursery rhymes, browsing through a magazine and finally using the toilet paper to wipe themselves clean. That is the idea anyway.

While it is simpler to take potty covers along for shopping, visiting or traveling purposes (and don’t be fooled, these now come in plush and plumped up comfy seats), parents are likely to opt for a wooden potty chair for home use. In these, the toddler feels comfortable and safe as both his feet are placed on the floor (unless of course he decides to enjoy himself rocking away the time). In fact, the rockers are removable.

If you want to get some idea of how these wooden potty chairs look, think along the lines of one for boys which is grandly named His Majesties Throne. It is anatomically safe with no lids to trap the family jewels and a small shield to prevent fountain-like spills all over the floor. Customized with a photograph of the little boy child, he is likely to feel important and impressed and take to training like a breeze.

Boys are not the only ones to have such beautifully fashioned potty chairs for them. Her Majesties Throne has been specifically designed for your little princess. Her photograph completes the backing of the chair and she will no doubt enjoy taking ownership of the potty chair (which comes in pink and lilac colors) but hopefully, also taking ownership very soon of her bowel and bladder movements, which is the whole idea of the wooden potty chair.

Wooden Potty Chairs encase plastic potties and come with potty liners. After your toddler has graduated to using the family toilet, the potty chair becomes a very convenient toddler chair which will enhance the bedroom play equipment or enable the little one to sit comfortably (rocking no doubt) in front of the television watching the latest cartoon networks. These wooden chairs are really a lot of fun and can easily be obtained by ordering through family magazines or over the Internet. You may or may not like to customize them and you may even find that Daddy would like to try his hand in handcrafting one.

Wooden Potty Chairs are back-big time, replacing everything that formerly graced the thrones of our toddlers! We have got the ultimate inside skinny on top notch toddler potty chairs .
